NORTE FLUMINENSE Combined Cycle Power Plant
is a project developed by EDF - Electricité de France - 90% of capital and
PETROBRÁS - with 10% of capital.
The power plant is built in a hill near BR101 highway and in close
vicinity of Macaé River, in Northern rural area of Rio de Janeiro State -
a region of low population density.
NORTE FLUMINENSE was built by AGPO Consortium (Andrade Gutierrez/Promon/Norberto
Odebrecht) in EPC scheme to the owner UTNF.
Power generated by NORTE FLUMINENSE is delivered to LIGHT Utility (EDF
Group). With this new volume of power, the State of Rio de Janeiro stops
beeing an importer of energy, reaching self -sufficiency.
The plant operates in a combined cycle scheme since dec09th, 2003 when a
steam unit was put into commercial service added to existing 03 combustion
turbines, firing natural gas.
Combustion turbines are 180MW rated and the steam turbine is 240MW rated
totalizing 780MW of generating capacity.
The 03 combustion turbines generators 501F and 01 steam turbine generator
was supplied by Siemens - Westinghouse Power Corp. (USA), both GSU and
auxiliary transformers for 4 units was supplied by Siemens Ltda, Brazil.
Power generated is evacuated to GSU by means of 04 sets of Isolated Phase
Bus 15/23kV-10000A designed, manufactured, tested and shipped to jobsite by
PowerBus, Itajaí, Brazil supplied to AGPO Consortium in 2002/03.
PowerBus also performed jobsite erection and comissioning tests
supervision of the equipment supplied. |
